Amalia Home Collection: A Century of Tradition and Craftsmanship
Amalia Home Collection is the result of 100 years of experience and tradition in the textile industry.
Its roots trace back several generations to the 1920s, when some of the original weaving mills in northern Portugal began producing textiles that embodied European quality and craftsmanship.
Today, this tradition continues with the Amalia Home Collection. Inspired by the place where it is made, the collection reflects the landscapes and people of Portugal.
From the coast to the mountains, from cobblestone streets to rolling hills—each design brings a piece of Portugal into your home.
Amalia is the soul of Portugal. It embodies our “Saudade”—our longing, beauty, and purpose—meaning this collection carries our spirit and reflects our country in all its splendor, melancholy, and joy.
The name of the collection is inspired by the great-grandmother of António Coelho Lima, owner and founder of ACL Impex and one of the creators of Amalia Home Collection.
Amalia is also a name recognized worldwide through one of Portugal’s most iconic musical traditions: Fado.
Our history gives this collection even more heart, as its roots remain deeply connected to its heritage.
INSPIRATION
From the coast to the mountains, from cobblestone streets to rolling hills—each design is crafted to bring a piece of Portugal into your home.
Amalia Home Collection is a fourth-generation family business based in Guimarães, a historic city in northern Portugal. This city is renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including:
- The 10th-century Castle of Guimarães
- The restored Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, built in the style of a French château and now home to a museum showcasing furniture, tapestries, and weapons
- The Romanesque Church of São Miguel do Castelo, built in the 13th century
This deep-rooted tradition is why Amalia Home Collection values Portugal’s rich culture and heritage.
The design, craftsmanship, and quality present in every fabric collection convey one clear message:
“From Portugal, with Love.”
