The traditional Japanese company UCHINO, founded in 1937, initially traded silk robes and dressing gowns. Ten years later, the company began to produce and trade towels. In the 1950s, UCHINO started weaving towels on Jacquard looms and was the first company in Japan to produce patterned towels based on the wishes and designs of individual clients.
In 1956, UCHINO made another "first" and presented the world's first printed towels, followed by licensed products for Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy & Hermès. Since then, UCHINO has continuously developed patented new fabrics which are nearly unsurpassable in terms of softness, absorbency and drying qualities.
What fascinates us about UCHINO is the lightness of its towels and the incredible softness of its fabrics.
For athletes there is a line of very fine, light terry towels which dry remarkably quickly.
